Nationwide protests against Babri Masjid's demolition
- Ameer-e-Jamaat Senator Qazi Hussain Ahmad toured Sudan and other African countries.
- Nationwide protests were held against the demolition of the Babri Mosque by extremist Hindus in India, and its reconstruction was demanded.
- The Pakistan Islamic Front was established as an electoral platform on 24 May.
- Jamaat formed the Islamic Front in the light of recommendations made by a convention of 500 distinguished religious scholars from across the country.
- From 15 to 28 February, Ameer-e-Jamaat Senator Qazi Hussain Ahmad visited Kabul and met Afghan leaders including Burhanuddin Rabbani, Ahmad Shah Massoud, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar and Abdul Rab Rasul Sayyaf.
- Qazi Hussain Ahmad also visited Sudan, Abu Dhabi, Britain, Bosnia, Saudi Arabia and several other countries.
- In September, a nationwide Day of Protest against inflation was observed at the appeal of the Ameer-e-Jamaat.
- The ambassadors of the United States, Britain, France and Iran, along with foreign secretaries, visited Mansurah.
