DAC formed

  • The Democratic Action Committee, or DAC, was formed.
  • Nationwide strikes were held.
  • Ayub Khan was compelled to accept universal adult franchise and the parliamentary form of government.
  • General Yahya Khan was asked to restore the Constitution of 1956.
  • The One Unit system was dissolved, and Jamaat opposed the decision.
  • Tanzeem-e-Asatiza Pakistan was established, and Dr Aslam Qureshi became its first president.
