Allah Bakhsh Martyred
- Idara Ma‘arif-e-Islami was established in Karachi. Maulana Maududi was elected its first president.
- An All-Pakistan gathering was held outside Bhati Gate. Ten thousand people participated. Government-backed assailants attacked the gathering, set fires and uprooted the tents. Allah Bakhsh was martyred.
- A movement was launched for fundamental rights and universal adult franchise.
- A petition extending for miles and carrying the signatures of hundreds of thousands of citizens was presented to the government.
