Partition and Jamaat split into two

With the Partition of India on 14 August, Jamaat-e-Islami’s organisational structure was also divided into two separate parts.
Work for the rehabilitation of refugees began on 1 September.
Maulana Maududi’s first address was broadcast by Radio Pakistan.
Jamaat offered its services to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Nawab Mamdot, for promoting the ideology of Pakistan, defending the country, assisting refugees and supporting the liberation of Kashmir.
Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba Pakistan was founded on 23 December. Zafarullah Khan became its first Nazim-e-Ala.
