Four-point demand for Islamic system
- For the first time in Pakistan, the four-point demand for an Islamic system was formally raised.
- On 4 October, the Ameer of Jamaat and his associates were arrested for the first time, while the campaign demanding an Islamic system continued to gain momentum.
- The government falsely accused Maulana Maududi of declaring the Kashmir jihad unlawful and did not allow his clarification to be broadcast.
