Mian Tufail arrested
- The United Democratic Front was formed, with Pir Sahib Pagara as President and Professor Ghafoor Ahmad as Secretary-General.
- Jamaat opposed the deployment of the military in Balochistan and emphasised a political solution.
- Mian Tufail Muhammad was arrested for delivering a speech against the Bhutto government at Mochi Gate and was tried on charges of sedition.
- A campaign to enrol Jamaat associates was conducted, during which 100,000 forms were completed.
- Extensive relief work was carried out for flood-affected communities.
- Khan Sardar Ali Khan, Maulana Abdul Aziz, Apa Hamida Begum and Siddiq-ul-Hasan Gilani passed away.
