  • Following the Governor-General’s decision to dissolve the Constituent Assembly, Assembly Speaker Maulvi Tamizuddin filed a legal case against the action. Jamaat provided moral and financial support.
  • The Government of Pakistan signed a military agreement with the United States. Jamaat-e-Islami alone openly criticised it.
  • Maulana Masud Alam Nadwi passed away. Maulana Asim al-Haddad became the supervisor of Dar al-Urubah.
