The government must explain what is preventing a fair, transparent, and independent investigation. Who is so powerful that the inquiry appears to have lost public confidence? No society can survive when justice is delayed or denied. The announcement of a judicial commission has only deepened public concerns. If past commissions, including the one related to the Gul Plaza tragedy, failed to deliver meaningful accountability, people have every right to ask whether this is another attempt to delay the investigation instead of allowing the truth to emerge.
