Tax Reform & Economic Betterment

Tax Fairly. Spend Responsibly. Protect the Citizen.

مہم کی تفصیل

A state needs revenue, but a tax system loses legitimacy when ordinary consumers and salaried citizens bear disproportionate pressure while powerful and undertaxed sectors remain protected.

At JI's “Budget, Economy and Energy: From Crisis to Solution” seminar in June 2026, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman and JI's economic team proposed relief for salaried citizens, lower utility costs, taxation of large landowners, greater education spending, stronger local governments and reductions in unnecessary state expenditure. JI proposed exemption from income tax for monthly salaries up to Rs125,000 and a 50 per cent reduction in rates above that threshold. (Dawn)
