Motiur Rahman Nizami

Biography & Religio-Political Contribution: Motiur Rahman Nizami (Shaheed) served as the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh and was a former cabinet minister. He was a brilliant organizer who transitioned the student wing (Islami Chhatra Shibir) into one of the most disciplined Islamic youth organizations in the world. He was executed by the Bangladeshi regime in 2016 following politically motivated trials. 

Impact on the Ummah: Nizami's martyrdom sent a powerful wave of spiritual resilience across the global Islamic movement. By refusing to compromise on his principles or seek clemency from a secular court, he demonstrated the ultimate manifestation of Iman (faith) against tyrannical state oppression. 

Connection with Jamaat-e-Islami: Nizami maintained an unshakeable ideological bond with JI Pakistan, having served as the central president of Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba Pakistan before 1971. JI Pakistan considers his martyrdom a shared loss for the global Tehreek. His execution was met with intense grief and massive protest rallies across Pakistan, led by the JI leadership who termed him a martyr for the unity of the Ummah.
