Mohammed Badie

Biography & Religio-Political Contribution: Dr. Mohammed Badie is the 8th Supreme Guide (Murshid al-Aam) of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. An eminent veterinary professor and Islamic scholar, he spent years in prison under successive regimes. Following the 2013 coup, he was arrested, faced multiple death sentences, and remains a symbol of unshakeable patience in Egyptian dungeons. 

Impact on the Ummah: Badie provided the Ummah with a contemporary template of Sabr (patience) and constitutional resistance. His famous declaration, "Our peacefulness is stronger than bullets," countered the Western attempt to brand Islamic revivalist movements as inherently violent, preserving the movement's moral superiority. 

Connection with Jamaat-e-Islami: As the head of the mother movement of global revivalism, Badie shares an umbilical intellectual connection with JI Pakistan. The literature of Maulana Maududi and Hasan al-Banna forms their common worldview. JI Pakistan has consistently campaigned for his release, raising his plight at international forums and viewing his steadfastness as an inspiration for the entire Tehreek.
