JI's Foreign Policy Philosophy

Jamaat-e-Islami has consistently argued that Pakistan has historically subordinated its foreign policy to external powers — sacrificing strategic independence for aid, security guarantees, and elite access. JI views this as a fundamental error that has diminished Pakistan's standing, created dangerous dependencies, and tied the country to conflicts that serve others' interests.
JI's alternative is a self-reliant, principled foreign policy: one that prioritises economic diplomacy over military alignment, builds genuine partnerships with the Muslim world, and speaks with a moral voice on global injustices. This does not mean isolationism — it means dignity.

• Non-Alignment & Strategic Autonomy: Pakistan must not bind itself to any superpower bloc. Relations with the US, China, and Russia should serve Pakistani interests — not be shaped by loyalty or fear.
• Islamic Solidarity as State Policy: Ties with Muslim-majority nations should be elevated beyond transactional diplomacy toward genuine economic, cultural, and defence cooperation.
• Moral Consistency in Global Affairs: Pakistan must apply the same standards to all actors. JI rejects selective condemnation and demands Pakistan speak clearly on Gaza, Kashmir, Rohingya, and all occupied territories.

Pakistan does not need to choose between East and West, between great powers or regional blocs. It needs to choose itself — its own people, its own sovereignty, its own moral compass. That is the foreign policy Jamaat-e-Islami has always stood for.
