Ismail Haniyeh

Biography & Religio-Political Contribution: Ismail Haniyeh (Shaheed) was the prominent political leader of Hamas and a former Palestinian Prime Minister. Emerging from the refugee camps of Gaza, he served as a close aide to Sheikh Ahmed Yassin. He balanced astute diplomatic statecraft with active resistance, leading the political bureau of Hamas until his martyrdom in a targeted assassination in Tehran in 2024.
Impact on the Ummah: Haniyeh broke the diplomatic isolation imposed on the Palestinian resistance by the West. His unwavering stance during the catastrophic siege of Gaza, coupled with losing dozens of his family members to airstrikes, instilled unprecedented revolutionary courage across the global Ummah to resist Zionist-Western imperialism.
Connection with Jamaat-e-Islami: Haniyeh maintained direct, warm, and institutional contact with the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, including Sirajul Haq and Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman.
